Efforts to solve the problem in Vizhinjam strike: MP Shashi Tharoor is on the scene

Thiruvananthapuram: Efforts have been started under the leadership of Shashi Tharoor MP to solve the problems raised by the coastal residents regarding the Vizhinjam International Port and to remove the obstacles in the construction of the port. Shashi Tharoor, who held a discussion with the Latin Archdiocese Archbishop Dr. Thomas J. Neto, who is leading the movement, met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan yesterday and discussed the issues.

He tweeted yesterday that the discussion with the Chief Minister was fruitful and the Chief Minister proposed solutions including fair compensation and rehabilitation for the distressed coastal residents. The tweet also said that the Chief Minister will conduct an expert study on coastal erosion.

It is indicated that Shashi Tharoor will also contact the leaders of fishermen’s organizations in continuation of the discussions. The MP is trying to provide an opportunity for collective discussion to solve the problem.
